How we vet every member of staff
Every person ST HECS places, in a school, a care setting or on a cleaning job, goes through the same checks before their first shift. We run DBS checks through uCheck, an online DBS checking service, so the application, ID verification and result are handled through a recognised system rather than on paper.
- Identity check. Original ID documents verified before the DBS application is submitted.
- Right to work. Checked and recorded for every worker.
- DBS check through uCheck. Care and school staff have an Enhanced DBS check with a check of the relevant barred list. Cleaning staff have a Basic or Standard DBS check, depending on the site. Every check is completed before anyone is placed.
- References. Previous employment references taken up and checked.
Want to see it for yourself? If you book staff through us, ask and we will confirm the DBS details for the person we send you, including the certificate date, before they start. We do not publish anyone’s certificate online, because it is their personal data.
